Viva Music Therapy is an AMTA-compliant provider of music therapy services supporting children and adults in reaching their cognitive, psychomotor, socio-emotional, and music goals. We seek to collaborate with our clients, their families, and other members of their educational and healthcare teams to create individualized and effective programs using evidence-based practices.
Our Profession
Music Therapy is an allied health service that involves the use of age-appropriate music to support infants, children, adolescents, and adults in accomplishing individualized goals set within the context of a therapeutic relationship. Music therapists must complete an approved music therapy program and become board certified through a separate, independent organization – the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).
Our Name
Viva Music Therapy provides music therapy services to individuals and groups with various developmental exceptionalities and music therapy services for early childhood development.
One definition of “Viva” means to “support and encourage” and that’s exactly what we want to do here at Viva Music Therapy. We look forward to working with you using evidence-based (empirically proven) music therapy practices that will help you achieve goals developed personally for you in conjunction with your music therapist.
