Adaptive Music Lessons

Adaptive Music Lessons

Adaptive music lessons provide extra support for students who are focused on learning a musical skill such as singing or playing an instrument. Your music therapist will adapt the lesson based on your individual needs and situation.

We provide services to anyone interested in learning a musical skill, but we specialize in the following groups:

  • Children and adults with developmental or learning exceptionalities
  • People who have sustained an injury and have struggles due to loss of abilities and former skills
  • Adults with Parkinson’s who would benefit from breath work and singing lessons

Mommy & Me/Daddy & Me

Babies, toddlers, and preschoolers can all benefit from early music classes. In addition to building an early appreciation of music, our classes can:

  • Promote social development and interaction
  • Develop motor skills through coordination actions to music and rhythm
  • Provide sensory awareness and motor control
  • Stimulate language development
  • Teach emotional regulation
  • Build parent/caregiver bonds

Classes begin Fall, 2023. Contact us for scheduling and additional information.

Stress Reduction

Music is an effective tool for relaxation and stress reduction.

The stress reduction class at Viva Music Therapy uses music to support traditional stress management activities and also employs additional techniques such as songwriting and music making for stress reduction purposes.
